I feel most alive when I’m doing what God has called me to do.
Not that I feel dead when I’m not teaching the bible or ministering to people, but I do feel invigorated and excited every time I get to share. That’s one way I KNOW that I am doing exactly what God has called me to do.
Now, if that desire and excitement ever faded away and became distant, I would seek God like never before and I believe He would put another desire upon my heart…
Until that happens – I will gladly and joyfully teach the Bible any chance I get in any way I can.
What has God called you to do? In what location has God called you to serve? Where do you feel most alive and excited? What is on your heart – what desires are in there?
I would say, if you are not happy, if you are discontent, if you are miserable where you are at and in what you are doing – one of two things may need to happen:
1. You need to seek God and see if He is leading you to something new.
2. You need to seek God for contentment concerning where you are at and what you are doing.
God is NOT going to call you to a place of perpetual misery and unhappiness… I’m also not saying if you have faith everything will be awesome all the time, and if you have a problem it’s because you lack faith – no…But the reality is that the Lord in your heart will result in a joyful life and a contented soul.
Do you have joy?
If not, maybe it’s time to seek God like never before and ask Him to bring a rest, peace and joy that your circumstances will never bring.
I do feel like a broken record that keeps repeating itself but I need to repeat this to myself as well:
The joy of the Lord is my strength.
He is capable of lifting up my fallen countenance no matter what life may throw at me. It’s just a matter of me intentionally directing my heart and life towards my Maker so that I can recognize that He is moving and working greatly!
He is alive and I believe He wants to bring life to you, to lift up your countenance, to give you a fullness of joy – that will be pleasantly overwhelming.
You will feel most alive when you are doing what God has called you to do.
Amen. May the zeal of the Lord continue as you share the gospel to the world. I pray your blog will be an inspiration to many and bring them to the grace and mercy found in our Savior Jesus Christ. Blessings!
