We were new to Mobile when the turtle was crossing the road. Seriously. We were almost home when low and behold there was a big turtle walking slowly across Johnson Road!
I was driving. I slowed down. My wife got out of the car, picked up the turtle and walked up to our car holding him. Our daughters laughed as we inspected this guy. He was just trying to get across the Highway.
We were on a new adventure in Mobile Alabama and this was all part of the experience.
My wife put the turtle on the other side of the road and we drove home.
The unexpected can be a blessing or a burden depending on how you look at it.
When we are extremely stringent with our plans and leave no room for the Lord to move, the unexpected can be annoying. On the other hand, when we leave room for the Lord to move, the unexpected can be a great adventure.
We will Trust God when we live with open hands instead of clenched fists. Surrender is the avenue to seeing God move and fulfilling His will. Stay flexible.
Give room for God to change your plans and rearrange your priorities. Allow yourself to slow down instead of striving to get it all done now.
