1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 – “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

There is no such thing as a pessimistic believer. If you are following the Lord, you should have a pretty positive view on life. You should be able to see the bright side even in the darkest trial. Even if everything around us seems to crumble, God is still with us, fighting for us. Even if nothing goes our way, God is still right there lifting us up. 

If we are sincerely seeking the Lord, then we will see everything in a positive light. Look up first and then look ahead. Being positive has everything to do with our nearness to God. The closer you are with Him, the brighter your countenance will be. Your positivity will emanate from your perspective.
